Who Am I?Although my writing "handle" is Captain Black, my real name is Kevin Machin, though you've probably worked that out for yourself by now. I'm a forty-something guy with an enthusiasm for science and technology - both fact and fiction. Other interests include running, mountaineering, skiing, progressive rock and the occasional glass of "lemonade". |

What Do I Do?This web site is mostly about my fiction writing. I'm a wannabe writer you see. What do I write? Well, anything from very short poems (you'll even find one with only one word), short stories, not-so-short stories, to full novels. I usually have several writing projects on the go at any one time, which means that I don't tend to complete anything in a hurry. In another life I'm a physicist and a software developer.
